David M. Kleinman
President, High Regard Communications

After a prolific run as a journalist and contributing editor covering diverse fields, David fashioned a new career as a highly regarded writer, consultant and team leader for public relations and integrated marketing firms, large and small, representing leading destinations, travel brands, real estate and resort developers and master-planned communities in the U.S. and around the world. He’s conceived and directed award-winning, results-driven strategic communications campaigns featuring high-profile talent in food, travel and other sectors, specializing in destination marketing for international, state and regional tourism groups and councils.

David directed travel public relations for Spring O’Brien & Company for a decade, achieving milestones for Tourism New Zealand, Tourism Victoria (Melbourne, Australia), Hong Kong Tourism, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Victoria Cruises (in China), Air Tahiti Nui (Tahiti and French Polynesia), Radisson (now Regent) Seven Seas and many others including the launch of pioneering adventure tour operators like Quark Expeditions, Deep Ocean Expeditions and Space Adventures and growing the travel group’s billings tenfold.

Focused today on the vast potential for inspired programming in broadcast, cable, social and digital media, he believes the whole must be larger than the sum of the parts to be worth the effort. His aim is to shape a new architecture of consumer engagement, brand building and sales, delivering transformational content across all media that moves travelers and travel partners to action.

His embrace of film tourism stems from his experience with Lord of the Rings for New Zealand and Pirates of the Caribbean for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.  He is currently providing strategic counsel to Indie film Infreschi (to shoot in Italy in 2016), and to a multimedia project that includes Dark Horse graphic novel Mandala.
